1St Class Pipefitter Day Shift BMR
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The pipefitter lays out, installs, and maintains vessels’ piping systems, such as heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure, and oil lines.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Follow blueprints and use hand tools and shop machines.
- Cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for the installation of pipes.
- Cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings.
- Connect pipes to fixtures and test systems for leaks, ensuring that the system meets specifications.
- Work with a tacker/helper to perform precision work and solve problems.
- Perceive pertinent details in objects or blueprints.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of blueprints and drawings.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- 3.5 years of experience as a pipefitter.
- Capable of operating a cutting torch and tack welding.
