NSC Staffing is hiring an Accounts Payable Analyst to support financial operations in our Norfolk office. This is a critical role within the Finance department, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment processing and adherence to accounting standards and government compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions, including travel-related requests, expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and government regulations (FAR/SOX).
- Perform invoice coding, voucher creation, and recurring lease/rent voucher maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
- Execute weekly check runs and handle off-cycle payments as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact for travel agency coordination and payment processing.
- Maintain and file financial documents and assist with audit support.
- Set up and monitor credit card accounts, ensuring reconciliation accuracy.
- Continuously support process improvements and uphold financial integrity across disbursements.
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong typing and 10-key by touch skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative office environment with occasional visits aboard vessels.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to board vessels and perform light physical tasks such as walking and lifting as needed.
- Visual and auditory capability required for communication and data entry.
