NSC Staffing has immediate openings for Welders in Indianapolis, IN. Candidates must be comfortable working around machines. Attention to detail and ability to work overtime. 
Job Requirements:
Summary: Runs welding machines (MIG & TIG). Runs fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template
• Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade
 • Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction • Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces
• Sets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning work
• Operates any equipment needed to perform job
 • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
• Use various welding equipment such as: hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment (arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches) to weld together various metal components
 • Join various components of fabricated sheet metal assemblies • Cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layout, customers' work orders, or blueprints or sketches
• Operates grinders to smooth and polish welds

Skills and Abilities Required:
• Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
• 3+ years of experience
• Knowledge of reading blueprints
• Conform with all regulations, policies, procedures, and safety rules
• Physical demands: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk
and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to
talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift/or move up to
50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment: while performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving
mechanical parts.
Beneficial Skills and Abilities:
• Technical or vocational school or training in Machine Trades/Manufacturing.
• Possess machining tools that are essential to the trade.
