Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Deck Electrician with a strong background in electrical work within industrial, marine, or commercial nuclear environments. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of relevant experience and the skills necessary to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages.
- Independent Work: Execute tasks independently while following proper instructions and guidelines.
- Testing and Measurement: Utilize basic electrical meters and test instruments, including volt-ohm meters, clamp-on ammeters, and insulation resistance testers.
- General Electrical Work: Perform various deck electrician tasks, such as:
- Laying out and mounting electrical equipment and wireways.
- Installing cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks.
- Conducting cable installation, terminations, and cut-ins.
- Tool Proficiency: Use basic electrician hand tools effectively, including pliers, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and connector crimping tools.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of climbing vertical and inclined stairs and ladders, crawling, bending, stooping, working at heights, and navigating confined spaces.
- Safety Compliance: Successfully complete the Stud Shooting training class and associated vision tests, administered by NNS.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the electrical field (industrial, marine, or commercial nuclear).
- Strong understanding of electrical installation and safety standards.
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a team environment.
