Job Title: Network Field Technician

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Pay Rate: $24 - 30/hr Depending on experience

Position Summary: We are seeking experienced Cable Technicians for dynamic roles involving structured cabling system installations and maintenance. The ideal candidate should be proactive, a team player, and dedicated to maintaining safety and professionalism in all tasks.

Core Duties:

  • Adhere to safe work practices and comply with company and client site policies.
  • Install structured cabling systems, including Category cables, CCTV, Coax, etc.
  • Deploy network and wireless equipment from various manufacturers.
  • Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct system testing and troubleshooting using copper testers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Meet customer and site compliance requirements.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience.
  • Low Voltage experience is essential.
  • Basic Construction: 2 years (Preferred).
  • Tower certification, ComTrain, OSHA10, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained (highly preferred, not required).

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Understanding of structured cabling systems, applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to select appropriate tools and methodologies for tasks.
  • Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Effective communication with varied technical knowledge levels.
  • Installation and termination of Cat5e/6 and fiber (a plus).
  • Proficiency in data cable testers Level I, II, III.
  • Install/configure network equipment and troubleshoot problems.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and network basics.
  • Installation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor wireless equipment.
  • Ability to work on ladders and operate aerial equipment.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and travel locally, statewide, and nationally.

Schedule:

  • Typical Monday to Friday, with some weekend work as required.
