NSC Staffing is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake Operator to join our team in Indianapolis, IN.

This role involves programming and operating a press brake to fabricate custom, non-production parts and components. The ideal candidate will work closely with a team of fabricators, contributing to the creation of unique, high-quality metal products. Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Schedule:

  • Option 1: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM with a lunch break.
  • Option 2: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM without a lunch break.

Compensation:

  • $26/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate press brake machines to fabricate custom metal components per order specifications.
  • Collaborate with fabricators to ensure accurate execution of designs and achieve project goals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions for precise machine setup and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine or fabrication issues to maintain product quality.
  • Select and prepare appropriate tooling, including dies and punches, for each custom project.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet exact specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to optimize machine performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating and programming press brake machines in a fabrication-focused environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and forming techniques specific to custom fabrication.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a custom metal fabrication shop, working on unique, non-production orders.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse and evolving project requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in a fabrication environment with varying noise levels.
