Position Overview:
As a Cleared Production Supervisor, you will oversee and supervise submarine mechanical maintenance and repair operations. You will manage teams working on the removal, overhaul, alteration, and installation of mechanical parts and equipment on U.S. Navy submarines. The position requires managing personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and meeting project deadlines. This position also requires direct communication with management and adherence to Companies’ strict safety and operational standards.

You will work in various naval facilities, including Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing Shop. The work will take place in both shipyard and field environments, requiring physical stamina, adherence to safety standards, and readiness to work in challenging conditions.
Work Environment: You will work in shipyards, aboard vessels, or in industrial settings where attention to detail, quality work, and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Projects will involve hands-on welding and supervision of helpers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.

As a Cleared Production Supervisor, you will oversee and supervise submarine mechanical maintenance and repair operations. You will manage teams working on the removal, overhaul, alteration, and installation of mechanical parts and equipment on U.S. Navy submarines. The position requires managing personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and meeting project deadlines. This position also requires direct communication with management and adherence to Companies’ strict safety and operational standards.
- Supervision & Management: Oversee daily operations and supervise teams in the removal, overhaul, and installation of submarine mechanical parts and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members comply with safety protocols, including using required personal protective equipment (PPE). Steel-toed shoes and trade-specific PPE are the responsibility of the supervisors, while safety glasses and ear protection are provided by the company.
- Local Leadership: Supervisory personnel must be local to the area and familiar with Navy’s equipment maintenance requirements.
- Training & Orientation: Ensure that all employees under supervision complete required Oceaneering orientation and SUBSAFE Craftsman qualifications before starting work.
- Team Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations and communicate with Oceaneering management regarding employee performance and any needed corrective action.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to companies policies and procedures, including timekeeping, code of conduct, and reporting safety incidents or unsafe work conditions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, and submit them along with invoices.
- Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a trade craftsman in a Naval or commercial shipyard environment. A strong background in submarine repair and installation, including working knowledge of Navy data systems and procedures.
- Security Clearance: Must hold a minimum Department of Defense final-adjudicated Personal Security Clearance at the SECRET level or higher (Interim Secret acceptable if submitted to the government). Must also provide evidence of a current background check completed by HIINNS.
- Education & Training: Graduate of a Shipyard Apprenticeship Program or a high school diploma/GED with at least six (6) years of military supervisory experience. Must have five (5) years of specialized experience in Navy ship systems repairs and procedures.
- Certifications: Current OSHA-10 certification, respirator medical screening with fit test, and DBID are required.
- Local Candidates Only: Only local candidates are eligible for this position.
