NSC Staffing is hiring a Project Manager to manage a portion of Navy surface ship repair packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipboard repair and systems management, with experience overseeing complex projects and leading teams to successful project completions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage ship repair projects, including installation, modification, and repair across multiple systems such as Engineering, Crew Berthing, and Combat Systems.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Address and resolve any issues during the project lifecycle, collaborating with craft supervision, customers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct ship checks and attend related meetings to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in developing production schedules and manpower projections by interpreting work items and drawings.
• Communicate milestones, schedules, and target dates to craft supervision and subcontractors.
• Assess production progress and report status to the Project Management Team.
• Interface with other departments, including Estimating, Quality Assurance, Environmental, and Production Support.
• Maintain and develop strong professional relationships with other NASSCO departments and external partners.


Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience with U.S. Navy ship repair and modernization contracts, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or armed forces schooling preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
• Familiar with shipboard work control and tag-out procedures.
• Ability to utilize the Inspection Discrepancy Report (IDR) process to improve workflow.
• Previous shipboard repair experience within a public or private shipyard preferred.
• Experience managing technical personnel and complex activities during shipboard availabilities.
• Must have CVN (aircraft carrier) experience.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment and work in varying conditions (e.g., confined spaces, noisy environments).
