NSC Staffing is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for an exciting opportunity to ensure the quality and safety of repairs and maintenance on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Shipboard Mobile Support Equipment (SMSE). As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will perform technical reviews of repairs and maintenance performed on MHE and SMSE. You will ensure that all work complies with established technical manual standards, ensuring that all equipment is safe, reliable, and operational. This role includes conducting inspections, overseeing repairs, maintaining safety protocols, and implementing quality control measures to improve performance and safety.
- Technical Review & Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of repairs and maintenance on MHE/SMSE in accordance with technical manuals and safety guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a quality assurance program to identify, correct, and prevent deficiencies in repair and maintenance work.
- Safety Compliance & Training: Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by repair technicians.
- Certification & Weight Test: Perform weight test certifications and ensure that all equipment meets safety standards.
- Over-the-Shoulder Oversight: Provide hands-on oversight of repair technicians performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and safety certifications.
- Technical Publication Management: Manage and maintain technical manuals and publications for use by the team.
- Corrosion Control & Paint Inspections: Conduct inspections related to corrosion control and paint work, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience in quality control for shipboard and shore-based MHE/SMSE.
- ASE Certification: ASE Certification in one of the following areas: Auto & Light Truck, Truck Equipment, Medium/Heavy Truck, Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicle, or the ability to pass the ASE Certification exam.
- Safety Knowledge: Strong experience executing industrial safety programs, conducting safety briefings, and providing over-the-shoulder safety oversight for repair technicians.
- Technical Expertise: Ability to conduct detailed inspections of repairs, overhauls, and corrosion control.
- Quality Assurance: Proven ability to maintain quality control programs and enforce occupational safety and health regulations.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to maintain records of inspections, certifications, and training.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a Secret Clearance, and able to access military and naval facilities.
This position will involve both on-site and off-site work in various industrial environments, including naval shipyards and government facilities. You will be working closely with repair technicians and other professionals to ensure safety and quality across all tasks.
