Position Overview:
As a Tool Room Attendant, you will receive, track, and issue tools and equipment for all employees. You will ensure proper inventory control, maintain accurate transaction records, and ensure all materials and equipment meet the necessary quality standards.
Your role will be critical to supporting the operations of various departments in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Control: Track, issue, and coordinate the transfer of tools and
equipment, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records.
• Transaction Records: Maintain accurate records for all tool and material
transactions, including issues, receipts, and returns.
• Inspection & Quality Control: Inspect all received materials and equipment for
accuracy, quality, and damage. Document and report any discrepancies or damage.
• Material Handling: Ensure proper handling, packaging, and shipping of materials and equipment between locations.
• Tagging & Labeling: Ensure all materials and equipment are properly tagged
according to company requirements.
• Consumables Ordering: Order and track the status of consumables and other
necessary materials for the tool room
•Calibration Equipment: Prepare calibration equipment for shipment and manage
certification documentation.
• Tool Room Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies regarding
tool room operations and material handling.
Qualifications & Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of experience in a material control or related position.
• Basic knowledge of marine and industrial materials, equipment, and tools for
accurate identification.
• Ability to use and learn company-specific accounting and tracking software.
• Must lift to 50 lbs and operate pallet trucks, forklifts, and commercial trucks
(operator’s license may be required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have good eye/hand coordination and be physically capable of performing
manual tasks.
• Able to access all facility areas, including vessels and shipyards.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to carry, lift, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel, and stand.
• Must be able to hear and talk.
• Ability to transit all areas of the facility and vessels.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling tools and materials.
Work Environment:
You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, often on-site at shipyards and vessels. The position requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and adherence to safety and quality standards. You must be comfortable working in a noisy, industrial setting with potential exposure to various materials and equipment.
