Position Overview: We are seeking qualified Level II UT Inspectors to perform ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections on structural welds in a shop environment. The ideal candidates will have the necessary qualifications and experience to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct volumetric inspections of butt, corner, and tee welds using ultrasonic testing techniques.
  • Pass written general theory, procedure-specific, and practical examinations related to UT inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and acceptance criteria as outlined in NDT procedures.
  • Perform practical examinations that include calibration, scanning, detection, and evaluation of flaws.
  • Document and maintain records of inspections, including training, examination results, and vision tests.
Qualifications:
  • Certified to Level II requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A (2001 Edition or later).
  • Previous certification in volumetric butt, corner, and tee weld UT inspection in accordance with NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271.
  • Successful completion of visual acuity exam using Jaeger 1 letters within the last year.
  • Evidence of inspections performed in the applicable method(s) within the past 9 months.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb vertical ladders and crawl in tanks and confined spaces.
  • Comfort with heights is necessary.
Work Schedule:
  • Regular shifts: Monday to Friday, 0600 - 1430
  • Weekend shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 0500 - 1330
  • Option for up to 12-hour shifts based on supervisor discretion.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Employees must complete required safety training and medical clearance.
  • Documentation of training, records, and medical clearances must be provided for review prior to assignment.
  • All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, meeting OSHA and ANSI standards.
