Position Overview:
As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support production crafts. You will work independently to manage material storage, documentation, and equipment operations in a safe and organized manner. The role requires expertise in operating a 22,000-pound forklift, 20-ton overhead crane, transport tractors, or similar equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Material Flow: Interface with yard personnel and vendors to identify material requirements, maintain the daily product flow, and ensure products are made available to crafts in a timely manner.
• Storage & Staging: Properly store, stage, and mark materials, ensuring a clean and secure warehousing environment.
• Load/Unload: Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate material handling.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable records and transactions.
• Safety Compliance: Comply with company safety rules and OSHA standards, ensuring safe operation of equipment and use of PPE.
• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) within the team and processes.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with both yard personnel and vendors.
Qualifications & Experience:
• A high school diploma or GED is required; some college or certified technical training is preferred.
• Experience operating a 22,000-pound forklift, 20-ton overhead crane, and transport tractor (or similar equipment).
• Ability to pass a competency test for material moving equipment.
• Must be detail-oriented and self-driven.
• Proficiency in using basic computer programs.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and adapt to various tasks.
• Must comply with the company's Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, promoting a bias-free, respectful workplace.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks, and work sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for long durations.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to operate and endure physical vigor while working in and operating equipment throughout the yard.
• Must wear required PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection).
Work Environment:
• The work environment includes exposure to varying temperatures, wet/humid conditions, and outside weather. Noise level is moderate to high, and the role may involve working in high or precarious places.
