Position Overview: NSC Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety and Health Resource Specialist to support shipyard and subcontractor personnel across various industrial fields related to ship repair. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety practices and a passion for ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a safety and health resource for shipyard personnel and subcontractors.
- Survey and inspect working environments and sites to identify safety hazards and compliance issues.
- Conduct safety training sessions and orientations for new employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain continuous interaction with customers, including the US Navy, SWRMC, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with company employees, subcontractors, vendors, and State and Federal OSHA compliance officers.
- Provide guidance and support to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively teach large groups.
- Proven ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in industrial safety, especially within the ship repair sector.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
